About the Knowledge Map
The Knowledge Map is intended to serve as a practical guide for organizations, researchers and policy makers working to advance social mobility. The Map is a unique tool that was developed through large-scale applied research, to answer the question: what is needed in order to enable social mobility, from birth to age 35, both on the individual’s level and in the ecosystem – family, school, neighborhood and community.
Enabling social mobility means undoing the connection between a child’s future and his or her background, in terms of education, health, employment and so on. Advancing mobility – providing equal opportunity in a world with unequal starting points – is a complex challenge affected by many different factors.
